Since I've seen this issue come up frequently and I just found out that the cam band slots in my Dive Rite plate and Halcyon wing don't line up I figured I would attempt to assemble another compatibility chart similar to the Jetfin chart here: http://www.kidspot.org/personal/scubaboard/fincomparison.html

If you'd like to submit your combination of BP and Wing along with any comments especially regarding: -

Brand of BP, material(stainless steel or Aluminum) and weight
Brand/model of Wing and lift in pounds
Number of mounting holes in center of plate
Spacing of mounting holes if different from 11" standard
Does the BP have camband slots and if so how far apart are they? (measured between slots)
Camband spacing - measure between slots, NOT to center
Have you tried your bp with other manufacturers accessories? If so which accessories and did they fit or not. (ie - Halcyon MC pack, OMS storage pack, Special Harness etc..)
Features you like/dislike about your wing (or BP, if yours has special features ie rubberized webbing slots etc..)
Do you need/use an STA or is it built in

example:

BP - DiveRite SS 6lb plate
Wing - Halcyon Pioneer 27#
Mounting holes - 1 set
Spacing - Standard 11" with slot on bottom of plate instead of hole
Camband slots on BP- yes, 5.5" apart
Camband slots on Wing - 5.25" (between slots, NOT to center)
Accessories - DSS weight plates not compatible with DiveRite Plate :(
Features - BP: DiveRite Sticker (whoo hoo!) Wing: Great inflator, very slow inflation rate
STA - Built into Pioneer, can't use with DiveRite BP - I use a DiveRite STA.
Comments - I like how much easier the Pioneer is to clean compared to the Venture wing.

If you can think of other things which should be included in this list please let me know

Aloha, Tim

P.S. here's a list you can copy and paste into your reply:

Wing -
Mounting holes -
Spacing -

Hey Tim, I went through the same dilemma

Might want to include measurements between cam band slots.

The dive rite backplate cam band slots are 5-5/16" apart.
The halcyon pioneer 36 wing cam band slots are 3 inches apart.

I'd add in my info but I have the same plate and wing as you (DR plate & Halcyon pioneer 36 for singles)

Jason

Thanks Jason - I'll make the change - btw the chart is started at http://www.kidspot.org/personal/scubaboard/bpwing.html

Aloha, Tim

P.S. Any manufacturers that would like to contribute to this list/discussion are more than welcome too!

It might be easier if you'd like to look up your BP and Wing in the chart here http://www.kidspot.org/personal/scubaboard/bpwing.html to see if there is any information missing or in error. Feel free to submit subjective comments as well. Also if you see a manufacturer that I have missed please let me know as I will add them to the list.

Aloha, Tim
