Just an afterthought, but you could add a backplate pad, if you jsut need a little extra cushion. As others have said, though, once you are in the water you probably won't notice it at all!

Have a great trip!

Scott
Thanks Scott. I think the wetsuit might be the padding I need. Dont think that I am hating on Zeagle products. I briefly owned a zeagle ranger this summer, got it cheap, and sold it for more than I paid for it. Its a good product, just not the kind of think I like.

its not going to be a big deal. i dove the rig today and in the water its no problem at all. I am actually negativly bouyant in fresh water with no weight on my belt. im pretty happy about that.

Glad to here it....welcome to the family!

Cool_Hardware52 gave me this advice, just stand on it and bent the lower part a little flatter. Worked for me.........

SZ,

I feel your pain, back pain, lower back pain. I'm not trying to sell you anything, just trying to pass on what I learned while developing our plate.

Most BP have toooo much bend. Too much bend = pain in lower back. Notice how some plates (don't think the DR however) have two small bends at the lower corners?
(These kinda kick the lower edge awat from your back)

The real cure is a flatter plate. Maybe you can flatten yours? SS is very duticle so you should be able to "unbend it" with out harm.

Regards,

Tobin

I'm not a big man, just 5'6" and I notice my OMS SSBP only when I'm climbing the ladder back in the boat.
To walk around, I just bend foward a bit (less than with the jacket style) and walk around with the BP in the boat.
Due to the weight, I can't walk straight with a tank on my BC, if I did, I probably would fall back !!lolol.

In the water, I don't feel the rig at all, it amazes me when I exit the water and realize that I got this rig on.

Go diving and test yours.
