I have a comuter that does it all except air, but it is better to have the back up in case one fails.

I wish to thank everyone that participated in the poll and also with your comments. When I purchased my equip. I thought the computer was all I needed,I was wrong. I now have the backups and have again progresed to be safer diver.

THANK YOU

i am just too paranoid to just use the computer .
the what if syndrome , i use a genesis analog depth gauge and analog psi gauge with a genesis Resource computer it is a simple operation . the analoge depth gauge is duck taped to the back side of my console . i wonder how meny people will reply on the duck tape issue lol some times i think i am just way to ready for anything :armed:

There are two critical components to diving. Water and ducktape without which diving would not be possible.

Duct tape, eh? I guess the back of my console IS a much more sensible place for a backup gauge than my save-a-dive kit. Thanks for the idea... I'll let you know if it saves the day!

I was tought to dive with gauges. The computer just came in later.

I can appreciate the level of comfort the computer gives me and enjoy to use it.

I must look at my gauges anyway, in order to see my air level, so I basically use the two together, side by side to, hopefully, get a safer, yet longer, dives.

I will always use a table to see my maximum NDL and make sure not to get too far from it. The computer helps me in the sense that it is calculating my NDL based on the actual profile, rather than considering max depth only.

Ari :)
