Hello everyone. I want to set up a back plate rig with my Wreckwings from a transpack II. I need to be able to secure my cylinder with tank straps and have the ability to use doubles later..... Which one can i use for my application.

Sergio,I can help thru the process of elimination. My Dive-Rite does not have slots in it to allow cam-bands thru it to attach a single. To use a single I must use an STA(I use an OMS)Anybody else?

My old rec wings I had a few years ago needed an STA too. I don't know what Dive Rite has anymore.

I'm sending you some info on Fred T backplates and STA's. Get a hold of him for some really decent prices on BP's, STA's, and other stuff. I know several people who have his plates, and though a bit of filing is required (or you can pay for it) to round the edges, it can save you a little money.

Well, I have very long letter/flyer where Fred discusses his products and prices. It's too long to post in it's entirety, and the prices may not be current (this is few months old). I'd recommend just e-mailing him for info.

Basically, he carries four types of SS plates (2 heavy and 2 lighter), two sizes of AL plates, two types of SS STA's (single tanks adaptors), various sizes and types of D-rings, weight keepers, SS buckles, and webbing. He has it all, and everything listed above costs under $100 each. The only problem is that the plates and STA's come unfinished and require about a 1/2 hour of elbow greese to round the edges and such. You can pay a little extra and have him do it too.

Just e-mail him for a current flyer.

I use the HAlcyon SS 36#, the new model allows for the cam straps to weave thur the backplate and you dont need the STA.

I would like to point out that the FredT plate has the slots for cambands and will work with the new Halcyon wings. Also, I have several buddies that have them and they are very good. I have DiveRite plates and sent them to FredT for slot cutting to fit the Halcyon wings and they work just fine.

I have a FredT plate with the Halcyon 36lb. wing and I am very happy with it. The plate has the slots cut for the new Hacyon wings to use without the STA. It is a nice setup.
