You might also want to check out DeepOutdoors I have their bp/w setup and have no complaints other than I would really prefer a center cut slot in the single tank adapter so I could better use my Bio-lock.
I have had good luck with Salvo and Agir. I am one of their dealers but used their stuff before I became a dealer. Anyway in my opinion most backplate wings systems have different minor details but they are mostly the same. I would stick with a Hog harness but other than that just find one you like. You have made the right decision to go with a BP/W.
If I can help you with your decision please PM me and I will do what I can to help out.
Check out hammerheadscuba.com for backplates. They are pretty inexpensive. My 316 stainless backplate with two piece sta was 100 dollars. They don't sell wings, but I picked up my oxycheq from scubatoys.
I think the biggest advantage is the flexability of the system. I have a hammerhead BP, an Oxycheq wing, and a DSS Harness. I've used it for about 10 dives, and now my zeagle is just going to gather dust. My Buddy dives the dive rite BP with the Transplate harness & Rec Wing. They are both completely differant setups, but functionally they are about the same. I'd bet we'd hardly notice any difference underwater.
My suggestion is to decide what type of wing (based on if you are diving doubles or singles) then just mix & match like I did, or buy a package like my buddy did.
