Call me worst case scenario queen but in this case, I would only want to rely on my buddy for things that I cannot control or minimize the risk of. It would be prudent to ensure that if my drysuit did flood that it would still provide enough lift. This is my personal risk assessment. I would prefer to rerly on a lift bag or DSMB as a last resort. The chances are low but it's possible - if my buddy were unable to help me because they were in trouble or incapacitated, I would need to be able to figure this one out on my own. Assuming and hoping my mind is clear in a situation like this, and I am not panicking and forgetting everything that I learned, dumping weights would be the best and most immediately high-impact thing I could do as well.

As you see from @BurhanMuntasser 's post, Seahawk gives you horsepower and to spare with 54# of lift.Meaning just the horsepower of Seahawk would be enough with 28 lbs of lead?
