Ron finished editing his Underwater photos this weekend and I am getting them up on the website today, if my head doesn't explode. :shocked2:

Here are all the photos: California on the Great Escape - Sept 2009

That lobster pyramid is just an awesome shot (as are all the rest really). You hit some of the best conditions we've seen in months. Thanks for sharing!

thanks! Yes, conditions at San Clemente were perfect! We saw so many lobsters there it was incredible, most were shorties but many legal size out walking around! Catalina conditions were a bit rougher, lower vis and less healthy kelp, at least at the sites we did.

a few from Catalina:

we didn't make it to Farnsworth, but did dive Little Farnsworth which had some nice colors and nudibranchs

our second dive site, Little Gibraltar, had very little kelp, it was pretty barren but we did find this little section with life

Awesome photos and videos! The video editing you've done is impressive, do you mind if I ask what software you use for that?

They are getting their exercise before the season opens in a few weeks, and they huddle back in the depths of their little caves. :D We saw the same thing this past weekend.

The condition at San Clemente held out!!! I just went there on the 25th of September with the Great Escape and we had 80ft+ visibility!!! Mid-60s temp and near tropical viz. Didn't see any interesting fish, but lobsters galore and the south side of San Clemente had awesome topographies.

We were on the GE the day before you fnfalman, but went to Catalina, (bird rock, ship rock, and eagle reef). conditions were very good overall and eagle reef was great.
I would love to get out to Clemente, sounds like you had a great time.
As always, thanks for the VID robint.

That looks like it was great fun:D. I would love to do one of those trips. I am trying to convince my wife to go visit her sister in Gilroy, CA next June for a quilting shop hop. That way I can go dive Monterey Bay.
