I tried the toothpaste trick with some degree of effectiveness so tried baby shampoo and have never looked back! Fog free every dive.

I spit in mask rub it around then rinse works every time for me.just don't let it dry before you hit the water

Baby shampoo works for me. Apply it before doning my mask. No need to rinse the the baby shampoo from the mask. Just flood the mask & drain the water out of the mask before descending.
I also burnt off the film coating of my mask when it was new. It worked great, so I did the same on my spare mask.
