Had what was probably my BEST friend dive EVER today in Cozumel. We did a three tank dive.. First was Colombia Deep. Second dive, which was beyond awesome was Punta Sur. No current and we hung out where a squadron of Spotted Eagle Rays circled and circled and circled around us. At one point they came past me splitting in half and encircling me as they went by me. I could have touched them as they passed me. The squadron varied in size between 10 and 13 as some split off and did solo pass-by. I have NEVER see so many eagle Rays down south, nor had them come so close. They must have passed us about 10 times. Our third dive was Tormentos and since again there was no current, we looked for little things. EVERYONE on the boat was a good diver and it was a very genial group of people who all got along, didn't have any issues etc. etc. altogether, one of the very best days of diving in my life. Way to go Jeremy Anschel and Living Underwater!

Don't scare them away. I'll be down in a few weeks & I carry a camera.

Oh, that sounds magical! I love rays, but you usually only see them in passing.

Getting on a plane in 7 1/2 hours - can't wait! Thanks for sharing! Really excited now!

I will try and post some pics. I took so many that the battery in my camera needs recharging and I was so excited that I wanted to post w/ pics.

Congrats on a great diving day! While every dive is special in it's own way... some days are unforgettable.

I will never forget a day I had in Cabo, surrounded by a large school of Mobula Rays... swimming in a formation where each one was exactly the same distance apart as the next... it was like a living MC Escher print. They appeared and instead of fleeing, circled us several times. Even the DM was stoked and he goes every day. I remember thinking... "oh my God, oh my God". Underwater is where I go to church.

That sounds absolutely awesome!!! We are going in April for my wife's birthday. We are so looking forward to getting there. COME ON APRIL!!!

So jealous ... just got home from Cozumel the other day ... until the next trip!
