Well, I guess it's my turn to make a report. I started one yesterday, but it got lost, somewhere.

I unloaded my gear next to the boat at 7am, and sat down with a bowl of watermelon to watch the jellyfish play in the vacant slip next to the Cat-N-Round.

Everyone was on time, and it turned out that we had a full boat. Walter and I were both diving 119's, although he had EAN30 (I think), and I had EAN32.

The seas were flat. I mean perfectly flat, and the overcast skies kept us from roasting on the way out. Linda sent brownies, which were delicious!

Splash one on the Avocet, and I waited for Walter on the anchor line at about 15 ft. I cursed the 5mil wetsuit in the 84* water. Walter arrived and shot past me to the deck. Passing through the thermocline, the temperature quickly dropped to 70* and I was glad for the thermal protection - I even wore a hood to ward off jellyfish. I wish there had been more light to see more of the wreck at first glance, but Walter and I pretty much swam the entire stern (bow) and midships. We were heading to the other end when Walter gave me the thumb. I was pondering the recovery of a fairly new anchor when he turned the dive.
The trip back up the line had us investigated by amberjack, spadefish, and the occasional barracuda.

Gary had fresh pineapple cut up for us on the boat for the surface interval.. Yum x2.

We made our leisurely way over to the YDT-14. The clouds had broken by this time, and we were all bringing cameras. I did some light penetration into the dive locker (I assume) where the only light came from the two ends of the passageway. Very cool. I found some of my favorite fish in there.

Out on the deck, I found a juvenile triggerfish flitting on the edge of the wreck. I chased him with the camera for a minute until he let me click the shutter.

In a forward passageway, I came upon a school of snapper. Mangrove? Vemillion? Hell, I don't know. Two of them gave me a smile.

During a very slow ascent up the anchor line a trio of large filefish came back toward the wreck. I also saw a large curtain of fish off to the starboard side, but didn't venture to see what they were doing over there.

All in all I had a great time! My BIL's and their sons are being trained with Gary's shop this week for their OW certs. Hopefully, I can do more to fill the boat in the future.
