There defintely soungs like there is interest in this dive, now what dates are people looking for going?

I appreciate all the responses. Just getting back to the board after a few days.

Between the YDT's and Avocet, what do you think is the better dive? The videos at Garry's Gulf Diver look great of the Avocet from what I can see. I've also heard great things about the YDT's and was supposed to dive them on a trip last year but couldn't because of some rough weather.

I have a new buddy with about 20 dives and we were looking for something offshore in the Pensacola area, but I'm afraid the Avocet might be a little too deep for him. He has done most of his diving in the Gulf though and his last dive was the Oriskany. He is a very capablr diving from what I could tell. Any opinions from those who have dived one or both sites?

If there is any interest in an afternoon or night dive this weekend, I can bring a buddy on Friday or Sunday. Most other weekends I'm available for AM trips. I'd like to get a night dive up for the ydt's this weekend if there is enough interest, and Capt. Gary wants to crank up the boat.

I would actually like to do the first dive on the Avocet and then the second on the YDT-14. We did this dive last year and it worked out great.

If your friend can handle the Oriskany I think they could handle these two dives, but you know your friend and their capabilities better than I. Most of the Avocet is deeper, but that doesn't mean you have to go to the sand. Last year as I posted earlier my max depth was 107 fsw, which about what my max depth was on my last "O" trip and I saw plenty of cool stuff at that depth. On my last dive on the YDT-14 I averaged a depth of around 75 feet for the majority of my dive. The YDT's IMO are a safe dive at the depths they are at. Far safer IMO than the Russian Freighter (which is dived heavily) which is about 85 FSW and is easy to get lost on. The YDT-14 is just a good dive for those newly certified advanced divers just breaking into "deeper" dives.

I am free this coming weekend May 31st or June 1st(which is Walter's Birthday and always a good reason to dive and have hotdogs on the boat). I am also free the next weekend, June 7th and 8th. :)

I would like to do the Avocet also. I vote for the June 7 or 8 date. Hopefully, I will be diving the "O" this weekend. Denise, I still haven't got do dive the "O" since we all had our dive blown out months ago.
