I cover the event for one of the local papers. For those interested, it is a good way to help the environment (although I wish the yachters that dump most of the junk took care of their own dirty work)... and you can often see some interesting life since the bottom in the Bay is composed largely of fine sediments which have different species composition.
I'll be participating in our ScubaBoard Mo2vation Dive on the Spectre to Anacapa/Santa Cruz, but it's a great thing to do for the community!
There are only so many spots available on the Spectre, so everybody else should be at the clean up, right?

Hey there Kelpmermaid!!
South Orange County Dive Club already has 4 houses rented for the weekend and will do at least one more! I rented a house for 8 of us really close to the dive park so we can dive, dive, dive!! Wahoo!
SOCDC will do the Cleanup at Casino Landing.
Two years ago, hubby found a 14 kt gold ankle bracelet pour moi near Green Pier. :kissykiss
We also found money! OK, it only added up to 94 cents in coins but every little bit helps.

I have been wanting to do this for a few years now, but I always seem to have a conflict. This year, I'll be flying home from Kona that day...maybe next year.
