Those Aussies were quite lucky. I wonder what happened - looks like they didn't tie down the anchor line to the boat enough!

What happened was they did not leave a boat mate qualified to start and operate the boat onboard. Things happen above while we're below; there are many threads here of accidents involving this shortcoming. It may be a common risk, but one I would not want to take out there.
