has anyone done diving in the ausable river in oscoda or surrounding cities. i read about some one diving the foote dam pond on the rive but he didnt give any info on the site.(have fished there) was wondering what you guys thought?

I have not dove it but I have been in a canoe down that river.
 
I tube the AuSable in Mio, but have never dived it, as for Foote pond, a group of us did a Halloween night dive at the campground above the dam, plus a couple guys I know dive there quite a bit, it is a interesting dive a lot of trees, obstructions, and fish.
 
Used to dive Foote Dam quite a bit. Dove the area just below where the paddle wheeler was docked (is it still there?). It was a neat dive with all the trees, usually had fair vis 10-20 feet, been at least 6 years though.
Can't remember the depth ever getting past 25".
That is where we did our certification dives
 
thanks for the replies, i have to kayaked down the river and that is were i got the idea from. if anyone else has any other info i would like to know.

how do you get in, from a boat or shore?
