Do you use any other attachment point than on the right side of the harness belt using the webbing loop?

I find that my light is not as secure as I would like even when I use a SS buckle to hold it in place. Has anyone used a bungee loop on the BP?

Also, has anyone had AUL convert their Spectrum series light to HID?

Thanks,

I just emailed AUL for general pricing on converting to HID, if they message me back, i'll let you know what they say.

I have a EE canister, and have no problems with the security of the mounting. But then again the webbing on the EE is REAL Stiff.

The only thing that should be required in converting to HID is the light head itself. Since that is where the ballast is located.

AUL had promptly responded to my query. Here is their reply:

I understand and yes we can change the light over for you.

The 10 watt HID is $215.00 and we will be happy to install the parts at no extra charge to you.

The 18 watt HID is a lot more as it will run $450.00 to change that and same as the 10 no charge for us to do the labor.

Thanks AUL

Hope that helps.

I have an 18 Watt head, but if I was to do it again, I would go with the 10 Watt. there is no real difference when diving. the 18 watt is great, but save the $$ and buy some more toys

Ditto Eric's post .I have SarTec 10 watt head on spectrum7.It is the bomb as they say.Buddy has 18 watt, he loves overkill too.I have 3 Spectrum 14s for sale after using a HID.The prices were about the same...little higher maybe $250.

My S14 seems to hang on just fine - although I did replace the plastic buckle with a SS one recently. No problems so far.
