Actually the water stays fairly diveable until December with a 5mm and hood and gloves. Once we hit mid- December through April it is cold. I always laugh when people say I will wait until Spring to get certified, maybe March....:rofl3:, that's the friggin cold water!!!!
I just mentioned the Albino Catfish. He said since he got the scooter he sees them all the time now. He definitely thinks there at least 3-4 . How many do you there are in there? Any guesses?

No guesses on albinos.

Debraw, you got any advice on Bonaire? I am off in 6 weeks. Captain Don's Habitat . .. .. or so I am told.

My buddy and I were out there today, put in at the RV hookup stairs. Had a good visit with some of the CDOTers, they started to thin out after noon. Viz really sucked, we got around with the compass. The rock wall on the southeast edge of the pond had varied viz--some places it opened up to 10 feet but not for long.

We swam back and forth looking for the mine where someone told us to find it, but no luck. It could have been 4 feet away and missed it, though. Will try again.

Yes, we saw the albino catfish and it was huge. I'm sure there's more than one. A few schools of babies, too, but not many compared to spring. Ready for the algae bloom to run it's course and see where I'm going again :)

Noticed that Robert's working on another boat--it was in the trees by the RV stairs.

Good hot day to be at the pond :)

My take on the weekend:
Had a blast, but yes, the vis was pretty lousy. Sure made the treasure hunt with the CDOT/CDOO event tough for newbies. Got in five good dives and one was a night dive. Vis had settled a bit by then, so we had fun.
Really enjoyed seeing the TSD'ers out in force. Alan, Frank, Thomas, and John, it was great to see ya'll again! Cruiser, nice to see you too and we'll have to get down to Aquarena one of these days.
Oh, and I had a nice surprise. CDOO and Scuba Shack out of Ok City sponsored a "door prize" drawing with the CDOT/CDOO event. I won a seven day Blackbeard liveaboard Cruise in the Bahamas!!! I almost passed out! Now, I can't wait to get there. And before all my "best friends" volunteer...sorry, the ticket is for only one. I'd take you if I could, but that's the way it goes, right?

I agree with Cruiser...all in all, a good day to be at the pond.

No guesses on albinos.

I never went to Bonaire, not to much advice from me. Well maybe one thing watch out for the Donkey Dung piles and hide your sunglasses.

Guba--

Congrats on winning the cruise :) That was a very nice giveaway.
