The M1 does not use a titanium orifice, it's ss. The others are Titanium. You can swap out for ss in the others.

Rainer:
Yeah, google is my friend (from the Atomic website):

Materials: State of the art metals. Monel™ parts are used internally in the first stage for its high strength; corrosion resistance and oxygen compatibility. Type 316 Stainless Steel, Palladium/Zirconium coated Brass, and Titanium are used throughout the second stage.

From everything that I have heard the titanium in the Atomics is not a problem. The M1 doesn't use it and if you want to save money (and reduce failure points) and go with the Z2 you can eaily have the titanium parts switched out for the SS that the M1 uses. As for the atomics being expensive, I actually found my Z1 setup for less than I could have gotten Apeks or Scubapro, and that was locally from an authorized dealer.

Well the type of the reg is reflected in the lettering from my understanging. I.E.
Z2 = Zirconium
B2 = Brass
T2 = Titanium.

I'd think you should be fine for the Z2 and the B2 ... There was an Atomic rep on the board a little while ago, but I don't remember the username...

We are using the Z2 for back gas and I have a couple of Mares MR12 that I am cleaning for high 02. I went that route on the MR12s 1) cause I have them 2) they are easy to strip down and clean.

At some point we might pick up some M1s but that will be a while.

Man,

Just when I was nearly lured to try some Atomics regs, I looked through their regulator range and ALL of them (second stages) have titanium.

Why couldn't they keep this simple? Back to looking at something else...

So what? Even with 100% O2 there isn't a high enough pressure in the second stage to cause an issue.

Worry about titanium in the first stage for high O2 use, not the second.

While you are looking go over to

www.oceanicworldwide.com :D

You know, I saw a picture, can't remember where now, of a burned and charred Atomic reg set from an oxygen incident on a titanium reg. I figured someone had tried to use the T2 of deco gas and it burned up.

When I saw the other units also used titanium, it kinda threw me off. I understand it a bit better now. Thanks for the explanations.

I'm torn between trying these Atomics, or going with some DS4s/TX50s.
