am I dreaming when I am thinking about paying $1399 for on of these? Are they really worth this much ?

No, not from a price/performance standpoint. But what were you really dreaming about? Was it that someone would notice the T2 logo and know you were loaded? If so then go ahead but they might be thinking other things, too. :) But even Atomic says their regs all share pretty much the same performance. I was planning to get a B2 and ended up with a T1 right when when the T2 was announced and new old stock was being cleared (in my case from a private party but dealers were dumping too). I figured the titanium was worth a couple hundred more than I was going to pay for the B2 since I needed a light travel reg anyway but I did not believe for a moment that it would be a better performing regulator and would never consider paying over twice as much just for the titanium in the first stage. So, by all accounts the T2 is a great regulator and if you cannot think of anything better to spend money on then it is a fine choice.

No.

It costs much less than this to manufacture them.

They're "worth" whatever fools, uh, 'customers', will pay for them.

They're good regulators too, by all accounts, however, you can buy three equally good or better regulators for the price of one of these.

Such is the beauty of free enterprise.

I guess I had sticke shocked that a regulator could cost so much I have been looking at the Legend LX and it is only $500. I just can't understand why the much higher cost.

I have a B1 T2 and I love it but I wouldn't pay that much for it! I paid about $600 and don't regret a dime of it.

The only reason to buy the T2 in my opinion is if your flying out of country alot and have weight considerations, since it is made from all Ti.

But is a ~$600 price difference between the B2 and the T2 worth saving 3/4lb to lug around? The second stage on the B2 is also titanuim but the first stage is brass.

It sounds like you don't need the M1 for greater concentrations of O2 so the B2 is alsmost the identical reg for half the price. So if it's going to be your daily reg I'd go for the B2 (which I actually have), but if you have the bucks and want to make a statement get the T2.

All atomic regs are great, they're always at the very top of the list when being reviewed and I've never ever heard anything bad about them (other than being a bit expensive, but then again so are exotic sports cars... and there's a reason why!). So just research the specs and buy what you want and can afford, that's the only true way you'll be happy and confident with your purchase.

A: Is a RollsRoyce worth $100,000 more than a Lexus?
