I'm a Fish!
I think these are/were about $1500 retail and I have the option of buying a brand new one from a Dive Instructor that moved on to a T2X before using it, and I wondered what people thought of the price he is asking for it, $800 and doesn't have a swivel hose but does have a sealed 1st stage, or should I hold out for a used T2, can't afford the new price tag? In either event I'm goanna have to buy a Din Conversion Kit and since it's a titanium reg, I'll probably buy the more expensive titanium kit. thx for any input. Chris W.

Do a price check here:

Atomic Scuba Gear and Dive Equipment

If you have your heart set on an "un-obtainium" regulator, it is probably a good deal at about 50% of new price. But you can get the M1 or B2 brand new from Scubatoys for less....

I guess I see titanium as more "gimmic" than "feature" when it comes to regs, knives and such. Good chrome plated marine brass or stainless steel if properly maintained will outlive the diver, and his kids, and their kids.... you get the picture

Best wishes.

were is the definitive word. The T2 has been around for at least 3-4 years so it's older than that. Before I bought my B1 in 2002-3, I think the T1x was selling for $1399. I'm pretty sure I also paid $1399 for my T2 a couple years ago. I think the release of the T2x model raised the price by $150-200. (retail)

Personally I'd offer $500.

You might also look at the ST1 - $899 new in DIN, with the swivel and envirokit. Probably get it for less retail also. It has all TI 2nd stage components. Stainless has practically the same corrosion resistance as Titanium.

I think the operative words are "brand new." Given that the T1x was discontinued about 4 years ago, unless it's been sitting in a box all this time it's unlikely that it's brand new. Sort of like buying a "brand new" 2007 model automobile.

If your heart's set on this reg, then Diversteve's suggestion to offer $500 is a good one.
