I bought a used set of Atomic split fins. I don't know how old they are but I noticed that they are more flexible/softer than a new set. Do they become softer with age? These fins are fast in no current but my last dive was from shore through 2-3 foot surf and I had a hard time swimming out through the waves.

I started out with a set of atomic split fins. They are, IMHO, great for calm water, but through the surf they don't have enough power and you can easily over exert yourself with them (cramps later on). I had 25 dives in mine until i went to a set of aps mantarays. They felt fast until I got the new fins.
Watch anyone that has a set of atomics and and you will see the fin flex so much while they are kicking.
