Ah ... you might someday learn the joys of a balanced diaphragm regulator and come back from the dark side.:D

I agree Thal, particularly if one is less than anal about rinsing/soaking a reg.

BTW, could that possibly be a photo of a Hog first stage?

Well I just purchased my first new reg- and I went with a new Atomic B2! It is more work to rinse it under pressure versus other regs but the benefits are worth it. I am looking forward to testing it out in the ocean next month.

It is a fine regulator, I'm sure that you'll enjoy it.

Yes, that's the "D1." Here are the other two in the line, D1 First Stage Cold and Special Edition D2 Cold.

I hear a rumor that there's a new HOG reg on the way next month. I've not seen it yet. I also hear that EDGE is going to have a bunch of new regs about the same time, including a titanium jobbie.

Congratulations and enjoy your dive trip.

Happy bubbles.

Finally had chance to dive yesterday and test out the new Atomic B2 reg in Monterey. Works flawless and much easier breathing than the cheaper rentals I learned on. Love the swivel hose and lightweight.

Congrats, on an excellent choice. Take good care of it and you won't be buying another reg for a long time. Now that I know something I wish I had purchased the B2 also. I'll upgrade at some point to the B2 or the top of the line T2x, probably when my 24 year son want his own regulator. I highly recommend a Seacure moldable mouthpiece, will be the piece de resistance.
Wishes for safe and great diving!

Thanks folks- I also had a chance to dive with the new Atomic Cobalt computer and Atomic split fins- both work awesome in addition to the new Atomic B2 regulator! Guess you could say I am a poster child now for Atomics scuba gear, lol.

I use the Atomic B2 and enjoy the reg. I have also had other Atomic products and liked them. Atomic makes great products like most of the scuba gear companies.

FWIW I would recommend taking a look at the Hollis regs also. They are very similar to the Atomic regs. There is a special for a free Octo with the second stage purchase. It will save a few bucks for you and get you a good quality reg & octo.

My wife uses the Hollis DC1 212 and loves it.

Check out their masks, too. Just like the rest of their gear, well designed and well made.

Yes, I love the Atomic frameless, the medium fit is the best (fitting) mask I've ever owned. I bought a spare just in case they ever stop making them.

To the OP congrats on your new toys, Atomic certainly make good gear, enjoy.
