...There are lots of things like this in Mexico that could be mitigated but won't. It's Mexico, corruption is rampant and tourists are considered a cash crop by the locals and politicians are locals too.

It's great to live in a country where everything is on the up-and-up, greed does not rule, and there's no corruption in government from the local all the way up to the federal level, isn't it?

There is way too much bickering and backbiting in this forum in general. It is a community, not a private club. You will find that you enjoy the company of some members of any community more than you enjoy the company of others, and that unlike in a club, you cannot expel those members you feel don't "fit" in with you and your group. Expressing your personal feelings about those members you are not fond of is not the path to forum harmony; it is the path to losing your forum posting privileges.

I have removed a number of off topic posts in this thread. I know whose posts they are, and those of you who posted them will know that your posts have disappeared. For some of you, this is the second time today that I've removed posts in a Cozumel thread. If I have to do it again, you will suffer a ban from the forum. I am out of patience with you.

I meant to offer a warning to other divers/tourists of what happened to my friend while we were there. He lost $12,000 from 2 accounts in this rip-off and is still trying to recoup. Others took this politically and I guess, personally. Just trying to advise of our experience.
