Atlantis Puerto Galera - Philippines

My wife (non-diver) and I are planning on attending a wedding in Manila in May and I'm looking at doing a 5 day dive package at the Atlantis Beach Resort at Puerto Galera after the festivities.. Anyone have any info on the resort and the diving there? This is my first post so pardon me if I am not in compliance with the forum etiquette.

Atlantis is run by one of my mates. Nice resort (high end for the area) and good staff. Atlantis is in Puerto Galera which is 1.5-4h drive from manila (depending on traffic) and then ~1h by boat.

Diving is pretty cool - lots of interesting stuff to keep you busy for 5 days. Plenty of current at some sites. Depending where you dived before it could blow your mind - there would be more biodiversity within 500m of the resort than the whole of the carribean

Graham, thanks for the info and quick response.. We are really looking forward to the trip.. I just got back from Palau where we did the reef hook at Blue Corner and Peleliu Wall and Express in very strong current.. LOVED it.. but also enjoy languid drifts through coral gardens.. sounds like Puerto Galera will be just what we are looking for.. thanks

i just came back from PG, I love dives in Verde Island and Sweetlip Corner...

More bio-diversity within 100m of the Point Bar jetty than on the entire Barrier Reef as well. I'm there tomorrow, too!

The guys here know you Mike. The Mike here was in Chuuk when I was there in December. I'm at Atlantis right now and it is great. Try and get one of the executive rooms, they are huge and have outside bars and huge terraces. The people and diving here are first class.
