I have heard it's not just color treated hair but any treated hair of any sort.

Yeah Debra, If memory serves me right it's copper sulfate. Turned my chemically enhanced blonde hair green and it took two days of lemon juice rinses to get it out! The owner of the park told me to put conditioner that they have in their showers in my hair before diving and it won't be affected.
