Been a bit challenged as of late to find an intro to scuba for my son. Just looking to see if he might be interested.... I called around to several PADI dive shops for PADI is suppose to offer a Bubblemaker or Seal Team course. Alas, no one offers Seal Team. Bubblemaker is not something that is a scheduled class.

Any insight would be appreciated. It has been some years since I have been diving. Would love to explore diving with my son.

Sounds like a DIY project. If he doesn't know how to swim get him to the Y for lessons, then get a mask fins and snorkel, practice in a pool and then go to the beach.

Have fun

Bob

Wait for him to be 10 and enroll in ow course. We only accept children under the age of 12 on a private basis. Can ask LDS to run a bubble maker or seal team session on a private basis. Anything can be arranged for the right price.

It would help if you had your location in your profile or your posting. NE is a pretty big place, I doubt you want recommendations for shops in N. Maine if you're in RI!!

Definitely get him snorkeling in the mean time. It can make an easier transition for people who aren't natural mouth breathers. :) I have two sons, not nearly that young, but both are now certified. My youngest was a relative natural as far as comfort level, my oldest it wasn't as easy for him in the OW class. Happily they both seem to be very alert and attentive underwater, which I like.

Good luck,
Bill
