Hey team

There's an old, not run for many years, compressor nearby for a trivial investment.

Since going CCR and sorting out my booster with a 12v compressor set up, my need for breathing air compressor is minimal... but I'd still appreciate having something small and very portable.

Rebuilding something old would also be a great distraction project :)

I'll be heading out in a couple days to look at the model numbers etc. but any early tips be greatly appreciated.

I understand Bauer stocks spares for 15-20 years for all models, but only selectively beyond that. I believe this one is an early 1980s unit so may run into issues.

So, anyone know what this is?

@oldairdude used to own August Industries and says he's working on supporting the 'vintage' Bauer stuff now, with a stockpile of older parts and stuff.

That’s a Bauer Purus. Plenty of key parts still available, plus I stock vintage parts. So if you peruse the project, I have you covered. Let me know the block number stamped on the pump and I will send you the manuals.

Went for an inspection this afternoon

It’s a little older than first thought, 1975

Still a Purus?

The filter /tower , all the lines etc are rubbish
But it did turn over by hand, with a slight expulsion type noise each complete rotation.

If he can sell it to someone else good for him, but if it’s still around in two weeks and I can grab it for $100 am i going to be able to get it up and running to do dil bottle top ups?

Thank again team, never ceases to amaze me the knowledge here

So how deep do you want to go do you want to do it on air or do it on mix and what will be the final result
