I recommend Clive (Dive Aruba) too, dove with him a couple years ago and he takes small groups is very friendly and lets you dive your dive. We had great dives on 3 days with Clive, you won't be disappointed.

Another vote for Clive at Dive Aruba. I have been to Aruba three times and always enjoy the diving. Great drift dives on the south shore, also some nice small wrecks. Can't speak to the Rui but have stayed at the Renniassance downtown. Really enjoy the private island there. There is a windsurfing school on the island- that can be a fun activity. Also really enjoyed the butterfly farm-learned a lot there. You have picked a great island.

Check, another vote for clive with Dive Aruba.
Riu looks great, never been in.

We've been able to dive both Aruba and Bonaire; for honeymoon fun, I'd pick Aruba. The beaches are far more spectacular in Aruba. Calm at Eagle Beach and Malmok -- beautiful for snorkeling.

Rent a car for one day and drive out to Baby Beach -- good way to give yourself an island tour. Go snorkeling around Palm (de Palm?) Island, but don't waste money to get to the island.

RIU is nice -- haven't stayed there, saw it being built -- looks like a super place for a honeymoon; just walked past. You will be in a good location for casinos and fun restaurants. The casinos by RIU have nice bands in the casino area sometimes. Try the ribs at Smokey Joe's -- fabulous. One night is all you can eat (inexpensive, even without). Try also the Salt and Pepper restaurant.

Diving -- we used USA (I think it stands for United Sports - Aruba). They just bought two operations, so they will be the largest on the island on that side. You set up your gear; they put the tanks in the boat. Dive masters accompany you; don't do a lot to show you specific marine life, unless you ask up front. People are nice; the shuttle driver from hotel to USA is very nice, cooperative, dependable. I think Lucia --at front desk of USA -- works out your overall discount only after you have done your dives (thereby giving you the best deal).

Viz was not that great, but wrecks (Perdenales, Jane C, Antilla -- the USA dive masters give nice history detail) are nice. Aruba has a lot of wind. B/c of that, the wind whips sand even into the shallower depths.

Horseback riding is far -- bring hat and sunscreen.

Add another for Clive and Dive Aruba. Great guy, great operation. Very personal and very knowledgeable.

My wife and I got married last year and stayed at the Renn(chose all inclusive). Very nice room and staff. pool was also very nice. All inclusive worked for us because it seemed like we were always hungry and drinking the fruity island drinks.
The island (at that time - August 2007) was having a really bad time with mosquito's(we were told by more than one person it was definitely not normal for them to be as bad as they were). The island is great for lounging and soaking in some sun.
As for activities, we liked the jeep tour (jeep safari). It was great, we went around almost the whole island, plus, who doesn't like driving a range rover off road?
