Im doing research for an article for a Wisconsin travel magazine called WisconsinGuide. The topic of the article is wreck diving in Wisconsin waters, and it is slated for publication sometime next year. It will be a relatively short article (900 words) intended to get non-divers interested in diving, and divers interested in non-technical wreck diving. If the article is good enough, the editor may allow me to write a much more detailed web feature on WisconsinGuide.com to complement it.
So, my question is this: If I can only write about three or four wrecks, which are the best choices? I dont have much in the way of formal criteria. They should be served by a charter. They should be within the ability of competent OW divers without tech skills (no penetration, no decompression, etc.). It would be very helpful to have wrecks in different parts of the state (Lake Michigan, Green Bay, Lake Superior, etc).
If you have some ideas and would like to help, please list a couple of your favorite wrecks and include a line or two about why you like them. Please also mention if you have a favorite charter service.
A reference to this forum will most likely be included in a For more information sidebar to the article, and Ill attribute any notable quotes to the writer (with the writers permission, of course). Thank you very much for any help that you can give me.
