Arthritis and diving.

After a six dive weekend I became aware of pain in my hip joint. My job is physically demanding and just before the weekend I stood on a nail and as a result had to modify how I walked. Also as a teen I broke the femur very badly, close to the joint so I realize many factors could be at play. What I'm wondering is if there is any evidence of diving exacerbating arthritic conditions?
