Its not very hard to build an argon booster out of a hydraulic cylinder. Mine boosts argon (only, never breathing gas, O2 or He) to 3000psi fairly easily. As the supply pressure drops below 1000psi it starts taking alot of drive gas - but I have a compressor to refill the drive gas. They can also be driven by another hand pumped hydraulic cylinder in a frame. That saves drive gas but requires alot of hand pumping to really use up the supply cylinder. I am considering modifying mine to use a second larger hydraulic cylinder to stretch my drive gas.
