Wow!
And these are 100% made here in Monterey?
No idea - I saw them in a local dive shop and read up on the website - that's all I know. I was thinking the same thing - are they just assembled here? Do they source components from elsewhere? If so, where?

This was answered above. Taiwan.

NEX is 100% OEM in Taiwan by Yuhsin systems

Wowza, if you check out Yushin's online catalog, page two is the exact NEX regulator just with different branding.

(Their online catalog is a Chinese dropbox link from Yushin if anyone worries about such things - just a heads up -- Dropbox)

Like many other "house brands," these regs are made entirely overseas.
Several manufacturers in Taiwan and China make regs for possibly a dozen or more brands. Some allow the brand to alter the specs, finish, configuration of the ports, etc. As long as they place a large enough order. They'll print a faceplate for the second or etch the 1st with the brand's name on a standard reg for a smaller quantity.
Own a shop and want "your own line of regs" with your logo? No problem! Pick a 1st and 2 seconds, order maybe 100 sets, and voila! You now have a Joe Schmoe's Dive Shop line of regs.
The only "assembly" is putting a hose on them and attaching the second stage. MAYBE. More likely, the bundles come with a 1st stage and second stage already attached to a hose. Then you need to add another second, hose, and SPG with a hose.
Hopefully, the seller also takes them out of the box or plastic bag they come in from the factory and tests them before they send them out.

I still don't get it.
A little country like Sweden making Poseidons and all the rest of quality things they make there.
A little country like Italy making Scubapro's and sexy cars like Ferrari's and Lamborghini's and the finest suits and high quality leather shoes.
My wife bought a high quality vacuum made in Germany and it was $1000, she loves it! It was worth every penny.
And in a country the size of ours with our technology and our man power and our resources somehow we can't make sh!t!
It's very frustrating.
I would be willing to pay whatever it took if I knew I was paying someone's livable wages and supporting a domestic industry, but it's not even an option.
Buying vintage stuff that was made here decades ago doesn't count.
