Not Baja, but across the Sea of Cortez? We dove Cabo last week, and it was really fun, but one of our group has a Mexican pen-pal he'd like to meet up with on our next trip in Oct. She lives in Chiapas though, and we'd like to get over where she could take a bus to meet us.

BTW, Cabo was fun. We knew the underwater scenery would not be like our (only other non-training diving experience) trip to Fiji, but the water was warmer than the Puget Sound (no hood needed!!), and the atmosphere is relaxing. Our bdives included Land's End, North Wall, South Wall, Pelican Rock, and Neptunes Finger. Next time I'd like to go deep enough to see the Sand Falls.
We really can't wait to get back there, but I feel obligated to try some other places in Mex. too.

Anyway, any ideas would be appreciated.

We often dive around San Carlos on the west coast of Mexico. Located about 30 miles north of Guyamas, its a small town that is primarily tourist/gringo retirement, I think. I have only been there once on a land based trip, but there are several dive ops there. Cortez diving is (to me) a blast. No coral, but rich and varied sea life.
