It depends on how you travel and whether you always bring your dive fins. If you are going to pack your dive fins anyway, then it doesn't make sense to bring a second snorkeling pair. If packing light is important to you and you don't plan on diving on that trip, short snorkeling fins are worth it. I swear by my Aqualung Bolt fins. Powerful enough where I feel confident snorkeling in moderate current but small enough that I can pack in my carryon backpack.
