I noticed that the Halcyon spring straps for Jet Fins come without pull handles, which makes donning/doffing the fins a bit more tricky.

This made me wonder if the handles might cause safety / snagging issues for cave/wreck diving?

Thanks.

I don't think there is an issue however they are not needed And could cause an entanglement I imagine.

If you can manage to get those little loops thoroughly snagged on something, you are having a very bad day.

GUE, despite their reputation for being horrendously nit-picky, are not unrealistic.

Great! Thanks for the info everyone.

Ive never understood how some people say there is difficulty putting fins on without a pull tab on the spring strap??

Theoretically the tab could get caught on something, personally i wouldnt lose sleep on it unless i were diving some tight and tangled wrecks/caves.

Jack Hammer, you must not have a lot of arthritis in your fingers! If you combine dry gloves, numb hands, and stiff fingers, pull tabs are awfully nice.

I have an arthritic hand and dive in 39* water with thick drygloves regularly. I just use my hand on the entire spring strap itself to pull the fin on instead of trying to pinch it or pull with only one finger. Not knocking people, just seriously dont see the issue. :-)

Mine have never had handles.

900ish dives since I bought them in 2004 and I still don't need any sort of handle.
