Just did my Diving for Science class.

I took my camera and took lots of pictures.

Thanks for sharing.

Yup, the Aquarena program is good, and they do a good job of making volunteers feel welcome.
The volunteer program at Spring Lake has done such a good job in eradicating hydrilla there that the city of San Marcos has asked that they spearhead volunteer efforts in removing the weed from the upper reaches of the San Marcos River. That could be a fun day/weekend. Anyone interested in participating in this effort?

Took this class 2 weekends ago, had a blast. I was able to go back this weekend both Sat & Sun to volunteer, and cleaned up Cream of wheat. The volunteer coordinator (Kat) was able to enthusiastically set me up with other regular divers, and I learned a lot from them beyond what we learned in the class.

It's amazing when you're down, hear a whirring noise, look up and see a boat directly over you, and a whole group of people waving at you.

That's the most fun part of the experience! :wavey:

I never hear the boats, I just realize their shadow is hitting me before I know there's one above me. Maybe I don't hear it, because I always wear a hood or beanie. Or then, they say the hearing's the first to go...
