Hi Shawn,

John and me will be doing our regular Thursday 10am dive. Cream of Wheat is looking pretty good, Little Riverbed can use some work getting rid of the algae, Ossified Forrest needs major work, Riverbed has a nice carpet of plants now and Catfish has a lot of algae. After all the material John and me floated today, Deep Hole and Arch Site are likely to be in need.

Mattboy & I worked a bit on Ossified Forest this week. I'm new at this and was very surprised at how many San Marcos Salamanders I was uncovering as I was collecting dead algae. Had to shoo off the bass and bream to keep them from chowing down. Same thing at Arch Site. Enjoy

What I saw in OF that needed the most attention was the coontail on the west bank. It was really getting out of control. OF can be a pain to work in. First the site is small so you cann't shift the area you are working on to get better vis. Second, there is a fine layer of silt that gets kicked up regardless of how careful you are.

I got some of the stuff that was 5-6 ft long and leaning in but I was unsure how far to go with pulling it so there should be plenty left. I think we got most of the shorter stuff off the bottom. Enjoy

John Payne and me dive every Thursday at 10, hit the water time. We would be happy to show you how far you can go. Generally, when we are finished with a site it looks like a bomb went off if we did a good job.

Specificly refering to coontail, take no prisoners, kill them all and let God sort them out.

I'll have to get started a little early but I'll meet you there at 0930 this Thursday if that is OK.
