Open to the public on September 26th it is going to be a whole lot of FUN.

They are going to have the BE A DIVER Pool from DEMA available for those that have not experienced breathing underwater. I was at last years Be A Diver pool exhibit at TPWL expo and it averaged 500 people a day. A lot of parents letting there kids try it out under great supervision of instructors and dive masters from the area. I encourage everyone to check it out.

For more on this special part of the event "Try SCUBA at Aqua FEST" check it out at:

Life Aquatic Underwater Web Cam

Attendees will include participants of the "Dive Around Texas" challenge and their guests, Dive Around Texas Retailers, Participants of Diving for Science and their gusts, DEMA guests, VIPs, local community and general interest groups. The "Be A Diver Pool" will be open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm so anyone interested in trying out scuba will have an opportunity through out the day.

The Festival will end with an evening of live music by the Flying A's from Austin,Texas and the McKay Brothers also from Austin. Stay tuned for updates!

Aqua-fest Coming in September : Aquarena Center : Texas State University

They will also be doing the Diving for Science Recognition day with the Dive around Texas

Participating local dive shops will want volunteers to help, Diving for Science volunteers will be able to participate to help out Aquarena.

Sounds like a great Diver event for the day.

And specifically what can we do to help? It's quite a drive, but I'd make the trip...

Stopped by tomsscuba.com - Tom's Dive and Swim today and it seems each dive shop is hoping to sign up 2-4 volunteers for each day. :eyebrow: Names will be passed to Eric, who will assign duties. Things like helping run booths, helping people get in the pool, just anything that needs doing.

Any Science Divers that want to volunteer to help out with event should contact
Erica at Diving for Science email address divingforscience@txstate.edu

to help out topside (no Science Diving this day) with necessary support for the staff and event.

IF you want to help with the BE A DIVER exhibit still contact Eric Peterson or your local dive shop to sign up.

You could just bring family and friends to TRY SCUBA at the pool it is a real blast for people and kids over 10 seeing there expressions after experiencing the sport of scuba diving.

Anyone want to help video the event get a hold of me at shawntv@austin.rr.com

See you there...................Any questions welcome..................
