After a few beer and talking with my dive buddy about what this lds has done, she pointed out that I am at 2 others alot and that i should pick from their gear. So that's my planned course. I liked the aqualung regs but I believe i'm going to go another route. The shop in question is SSI and recently got into an argument about PADI (i'm certified with) and SSI.

Overall I'm giving up on Aqualung and looking at Scubapro since there's a lds that carries them and a diveshop not to far from where i'll be doing my ocean diving. (st. simons, ga)

I've also talked with the other dive shops and they were really friendly and the gist of the conversation was ... "if it's new gear we'll take a look at it make sure it's in working order and you might be charged $40 for putting it all together, assuming don't have to replace anything wrong with the equipment."

Kinda the situation of liking a product and pulling away the blindfold to see that another diveshop with gear that you also like treats you better.

I agree with everything you said except that they make some good stuff. like what?

I've actually been real happy with my Legend LX Supreme. I can't say anything bad about it. BTW... I'm one of the folks that bought it at Dive Sports for a killer price that was competitive and got great service from Phil. Sure I could have bought it from LP, but why when I can get personalized serviced from where I bought it.

I'm just pissed at Aqualung for the crap they've been pulling with LDS's, so I guess I won't buy their stuff anymore. If it wasn't for Phil, I wouldn't have bought one of their regulators anyway. I know I only represent under a $1000 a year to them, but you add up all those $1,000/year people that are pissed at them and all the sudden about 500 of us is a half million ($500k) bucks. I'm betting that it's even more than 500 of us also.

It's just like Scubapro has some really good regulators, but they are in the same boat with Aqualung.

The only way right now that I'd buy more Aqualung is to pick up something that Phil has on clearance. He's already paid Aqualung for those regulators so any profit to them is "already realized" by AL. BTW... he has some great deals on their stuff on clearance for anybody who needs something.

I'm also very pleased with my AL regulator. I purchased an AL Legend LX from Phil. The Legend is a top of the line regulator. There are certainly others in the same league. Others that are just as good, but none that are hands-down better than the Legends.

With that said, I don't plan on purchasing any additional AL gear. They've lost me as a future customer given their policies and what they've done to Phil. I'll spend my money on Oceanic, Zeagle, Aeris or Dive Rite ... but not on Aqua Lung.
