Would the aquabionic Warp 1 work for snorkeling or are they just for diving. Anyone try these out?

Thanks.

Any dive fin can be used to snorkel but snorkel fins can't be used to dive. They should work just fine.

Not true. I have scubapro gorilla fins, they are so buoyant, you cannot snorkel in them or you will kick air.

They would be fine - but very pricy at $225. I took a close look at them and lusted for them for a time. If I had unlimited funds I'd probably get a pair.

I snorkeled since I was about 7 (nearly 60 years). Far longer than I've been diving. My current set of snorkeling fins are full foot Cressi FreeFrogs. For power on the surface and freediving they equal my open heel Aeris Velocity 3X's and are a ton lighter. I just got a pair of Aeris Accel fins to replace the Velocity 3X's for travel. Three pounds lighter, around 5" shorter but with no performance penalty. At $89 with free shipping I don't think they can be beat. I'll probably sell off my Velocities and maybe the FreeFrogs as well.

One thing about snorkeling - I've found that while full foot fins are great they are not always practical. Open heel fins with boots allow me to walk across rock or broken coral and get to the water in places that I'd never get to barefoot. The logistics of wearing shoes to get into the water deep enough to put full foot fins on and then carrying the shoes while snorkeling just isn't worth it IMO.

All fins can be used for either snorkeling or scuba diving. It's just that sometimes you adjust your technique. A couple examples:
Often while snorkeling you need to bend at the waist a bit to keep the fins submerged and not kicking air.
Or if you use long free-diving fins while scuba diving, your maneuvering kicks such as back kicking need modification.

There are so many interesting fins out there and different folks have different favorites. If possible try a variety of fins and experiment with different techniques.

$225?! good grief!!

Those expensive fins will work fine.

I've been using the same $30 pair of fins (Edge Transcend, with upgraded spring straps) from my first pool training to full cave
When they finally broke, I liked them so much I bought another pair. They snorkel and dive well.
