Hi all,

Does anyone know if the aqua lung free part for life program is still available if the regulator is bought overseas from an authorised dealer and service it yearly in my local authorised repair dealer?

Where is local for you? If the US, then not likely to happen. No knowledge of other regions.

“To participate, you must be the original owner and have purchased the regulator from an Authorized Aqua Lung or Apeks America Dealer.”
Aqua Lung Free Parts For Life

Australia, my local aqua lung dealer provides this same warranty but all very expensive here. Was planning to buy in Europe and hoping i could get the same warranty by following the maintenance program in Australia

You sure? AFAIK the parts for life doesn't exist in Australia anymore for AL.

Aussie Warranty - JettyDive

Besides, you had to service it every 12 months, which unless you dive a LOT is excessive. You might save a couple of bucks on parts but the service cost means you end up paying more anyway.

Here you go mate 175 from the second hand shop

don't need parts for life probably just two services

Interestingly, I called JettyDive yesterday and they told me yes for the Parts for life deal but another one is now telling me it's only 1 year. I think you guys probably have it right.

However, I'm dealing with a UK based Apeks specialist authorised dealer, and they offer the life time warranty on the xtx200, so my question now is if I buy this product from the UK, the warranty may be applicable in Australia. I've contacted Apeks and hopefully I hear back from them soon. The dealer obviously told me it was alright and that it'll be honoured world wide.

I'll let you guys know if I hear back.

No offense but I think you're chasing the impossible. AL australia do not do parts for life, and the program is not going to save you any money anyway. The P4L program and warranty require annual servicing. You'll end up spending more on "keeping it in the program" than you would if you took a wear based approach.

Looks like standard warranty boilerplate, if the product is defective they will fix or replace. So if the reg explodes because the casting was done wrong at the factory you are covered, if the same thing happens because of abuse they won't. Not maintaining according to manufacturer recommendations can be considered abuse. Basically the paper means nothing, but sounds good.

The parts for life is a different program.
