Hello my fellow diver, April 5, 2007
I will never complain how cold the water is here. Last week I was conducting an instructor training in Hungary and I had to dive in a 42 F, zero visibility lake in my wetsuit for an hour evaluating their skills. California is the tropics in comparison. I am so happy to be back. J
I am super excited about the soon approaching April trip on the Conception. It is only a few weeks before we pull up the anchors in Santa Barbara and head towards the Northern Islands. We have several new faces, and tons of by-now-veterans onboard. Big Steve and Uncle Pete is pumping Nitrox, if you want to dive on Enriched Air, please let me know beforehand. Brent is conducting a Rescue training, and we will also offer Navigation, Advanced and Night Diver courses. Friday, April 20th we are driving to Santa Barbara and embark the vessel before dinner at the Endless Summer. April 21-22 one can dive, relax and eat as much as one wants.
Everybody should have a camera for this trip, or as a matter of fact for every dive. Mark Rolph just came back from this weekend’s dive and saw a guitarfish, three bat-rays and some barracudas, but did not have a camera to take pictures with. For the month of April we offer a Sealife Special. You can get the unbreakable ReefMaster Mini Dive Camera for $275, don’t miss out on this offer! Check out the camera at http://www.sealife-cameras.com
As a California diver, you must have heard about the Chamber Day and Evening event where the dive community unites and raises money to keep the Catalina Chamber open all year-round. This year we reserved a table again and I wish that you joined Us at the Aquarium of the Pacific for this event. There will be tons of raffle prizes, fun divers and stories. $90 (tax deductible) includes the Private Exploration of the Aquarium of the Pacific, Chance to talk to Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber Crew Volunteers, Catered Sit-Down Dinner in the Great Hall of the Pacific and Five (5) Chamber Evening 2007 Raffle Tickets. Check out http://www.chamberday.com for more info! Please call me a.s.a.p. for your seat, as only a few chairs are open!
Another Spring Offer for our dive enthusiasts: Share the Love of Diving! Refer a friend to Aqua Adventures and you will receive a $50 coupon redeemable at Aqua Adventures for a year towards any purchase. (in order to receive the credit, your friend actually has to sign up for the Open Water Diver course) Right now, they will receive another great offers from different manufactures towards gear purchase.
Mark your calendar now for the Scuba Show 2007! Aqua Adventures will be represented at the event, and of course we would like you to stop by and say “Hello!” to us. It not yet has been decided what will be our Scuba Show Special, I am open to suggestions, so please let me know what would you like to see on SALE! The Diving Event of the year will take place at the Long Beach Convention Center on June 2-3.
I came to the realization that we need to do something new and exciting. After thinking for a while I have decided that free-diving is it for this summer. It is challenging, it will make you and me a better diver and it is quite safe in comparison to other dive activities. J I am gathering books and checking out gears, and I will put together a free-diving clinic this summer. I invited a many times world champion diver who I used to compete together with, to host this clinic and he gladly accepted my invitation. I will get more info on this for you in my next newsletter.
Until than, keep diving! Check out our calendar section for boat trips at http://www.aquaadventuresunlimited.com
Happy diving,
Szilvia
P.S.: I want to remind you to the upcoming Burbank Dive Club meeting. It is next Wednesday (11th)!
