Suggestion April Fools went too far

This past 4/1 the mods decided to allow certain controls to be turned of to help play a joke on the rest of us. (I am pointing directly at the
"Pssst...lets talk about them while they are not here" thread in Humor forum)
In a pm to me I was accusesed of personally attacking someone.

I fell for the joke and unintentionally caused someone else some pain.
For causing someone else pain I am truelly sorry.

In my pm to the person who clued me in, I asked if anyone else was asked to apologize for undue pain caused by this joke?

Does anyone else think this joke went to far? or had the potential to go too far?
Is anyone else feel any undue pain because of this "joke" thread?

It was a riot--some folks got to go nude diving in guam while I was rumored to be poluting the air at some quarry!!!!! Very Funny indeed, Thanks for the chuckles.

Perhaps this is a good time for ^you^ to assess your vulnerability to being scammed. Next year the old timers who have seen this stuff before need to post some warnings. But I'm still waiting for the "april fools" on the FL legislation.

Oh i got the joke, this morning. I wasn't on the board long enough to figure it out. Teaches me right for SB-ing when I am sleep deprived.
I was correcting statements I thought were made by others about me. I played along, I had a good time, I even found it funny. But it is has caused someone else some pain. Which I was pm'd for and was found to be less than human by them. (My interpatation of the message, not thiers)
Fun and games are one thing, I will be in there with the best of them,always, Hell I was suppossed to be wearing thongs or g-strings or something..or was it making blue movies with conches? I even laughed.
But in some ones eyes I am responsible for attacking another SBer.(an offence that has had others barred from SB) This "prank" has, at least for me, stopped being funny!

I will concur with Walter, calling it a prank, joke, or anything else does not make it right.

I am also aware that any joke has some consequences somewhere, somehow. I hope next years works better.
