Which computers are compatible with the Apple iMac, and which of those have you used and liked?

I can't think of any dive computers that are Mac compatible per se. There may be one I just don't know of it. There is however Macdive software which supports many computers.

I use MacDive with an Oceanic ProPlus 2.1 and Geo 2.0. Their software doesn't work with Mac (native), but MacDive is fantastic software!

Just about all Suunto's are compatible with MacDive as well.

This used to be a difficult question. I've found manufacturer-produced dive logging software to be lacking in one way or another. For many years, the big dive computer companies ignored Mac users because the market was so small.

MacDive is a wonderful third-party option. You just need to purchase the proper download cable and install the appropriate driver (if necessary).

MacDive 2 is native Mac software that is compatible with the following dive computers (cut and pasted from the MacDive website on 6/6/11):
AERIS: Atmos 2, Atmos AI, Atmos Elite, Compumask, Elite T3, Epic, Manta, XR-2
ATOMIC AQUATICS: Cobalt
GENESIS: React Pro
HEINRICHSWEIKAMP: OSTC Mk I, OSTC Mk II
MARES: Icon HD, Nemo, Nemo Air, Nemo Excel, Nemo Wide, Puck, Puck Air
OCEANIC: Atom 2.0, Atom 3.0, Datamask, Geo, Geo 2.0, OC1, Pro Plus 2, Pro Plus 2.1, Veo 180NX, Veo 200, Veo 250, Veo 2.0, Veo 3.0, Versa Pro, VT3, VT4, VT Pro
REEFNET: Sensus Ultra (dive logger)
SHERWOOD: Insight, Wisdom, Wisdom 2, Wisdom 2 (Metal Buttons)
SUUNTO: Cobra, Cobra 2, Cobra 3, D3, D4, D6, D9, Gekko, HelO2, Mosquito, Stinger, Vyper, Vyper 2, Vyper Air, Vytec DS, ZOOP
TUSA: IQ750, IQ900 (Zen), IQ950 (Zen Air)

Hopefully, you have a dive computer that's on the above list. :D

In conjunction with MacDive, I have the iPhone app Dive Log which syncs up divelog info with my Mac. It's very handy.

A number of years ago, I decided to purchase the Reefnet Sensus Ultra which is a dedicated "black box" dive logger. My primary reason for doing this was that lots of manufacturers charge a ridiculous amount ($100?) for a download cable. I figured that if I ever chose to get a different brand computer, then I could easily be out $200 in dive-computer-to-Mac cabling. The Sensus Ultra allows me to purchase whatever brand dive computer I want when my current dive computers fail/die and not have to pay for an overpriced download cable.

SCUBAPRO-UWATEC are Mac compatible. You will need to download J-TRAK. It is not supplied with computer. It is available from a link on thier website. It is a simpler version of SmartTRAK. The IrDA USB 2.0 will work on a MAC without any driver issues.

J-TRAK - SCUBAPRO-UWATEC

+1 on the MacDive/MacBook Pro/Atomic Cobalt and Dive Log app/iPad.

+1 for MacDive and if your computer doesn't work with it you can help the developper to make it compatible. I did it for the Mares Icon HD. So choose your computer for the computer and not for its compatibility with a Mac.
