Been a Mac person since 1992, before Steve Jobs returned. Overall the best engineered, user friendly stuff on the planet. There is a reason for brand loyalty.

I was a Windows user for years, wasn't looking to change, until someone gave me a Macbook. Now my PC just gathers dust. Mac is just better and easier, hands down.

Guys, this war has been over for years. Windows won. Mac has a 4% market share while Windows has a whopping 92%. The motherboards are made by intel. As a matter fact if it weren't for the iPhone, Apple wouldn't even exist.

haven't read the whole thread, but here's my take on it. i've been a pc user for 20 years (and quite anti-mac). as i got more in to underwater video, my laptop struggled to process the footage, so i bought another laptop (high end dell). it too struggled, then there was the windows 8 disaster. if the laptop wasn't hanging, it was driver problems or windows updates issues. i'm fairly tech literate, so was doing all the right things to get it going and failed.

exasperated, i bough a macbook pro. what can i say, it just works. it gets through video footage like a hot knife through butter. i'm not in love with os x, but it does the job and i wasn't too fond of the newer versions of windows either. i've learnt the hard way that specs on paper mean nothing. would i go back to PC, not a chance.

i also own an iphone (4S with no intention if upgrading). it also just works.

in short, i'm a reluctant apple fan.

Andrew, your take is surprising to me.....I have both PC and IMAC....IMac with 16 gigs of ram, PC with 32 gigs of ram.....While it might sound unfair to compare and suggest that the PC is better for video with this imbalance in the specs....the much larger imbalance is in the defective video card development for the MAC....you are limited to some pretty lousy cards for video editing on the mac platform, but on the PC platform, you can buy 4 gig or much larger Video cards, with thousands of cuda cores, that will offload the cpu work of the computer to the GPU in the video card, and then use the Ram far more effectively....and the PC will run circles around the Mac....try using After Effects, with a render of a virtual office and some greenscreen video.....what takes the PC 3 hours to render, will take the Mac 3 days.

And then.....there is so much more good software for the PC platform....

The plus for the Imac, was for underwater photography, the screen on the Imac can be perfectly color corrected with the camera and printer you use....while with the PC, the monitors that can do as well cost way over $1000. And for Lightroom and Photoshop, you dont really need much real power beyond an Imac with 16 gigs of ram..

I'm a very recent newcomer to Apple products. I admire the physical design and many aspects of iPod and iPad physical interfaces, but iTunes is a pretty horrible example of intuitive design. I've had to use Internet searches time and time again just to find out how to do the most simple things.

People frequently ask which platform is "better". My typical answer: "I hate them all equally!"

I have to have at least 3 os'es to get everything done!

I have had to do the same with Android's Google Play, not to mention with many other Android features. I am on my first Android phone--before that, I had iPhones. I feel the iPhone was at least slightly more intuitive than the Android.
