Makes perfect sense, clean up the x-cross a bit better.....after all the hose configuration is not etched in stone, nor is there a "rule" of what has to be done.....do what works for you as long as you keep the primaries on separate posts.

The "normal/DIR" way alows you to shutdown your post while you dump your wing incase of a freeflowing inflator + iced up hose. Which is the main reason I don't switch.

Jason B:
While there are no 'rules', having them crossed keeps all your primary gear (primary reg and primary inflation - wing) on the right post and all redundant gear (back-up reg and back-up inflation - drysuit) on the left post.

That is the same thing I said in my post: "keeping your primaries on separate posts"

And how would that interfere if you switch your wing and DS inflator?!

You can't dump with your left hand while you shut down your post with you right hand if you switch them.

That is not what I said at all.

I have 2nd stages on both yes. Is that what you are calling primaries?

I'm talking about your primary life support on one post...your main 2nd stage which is on a 7ft hose and your wing lp inflator.

Redundant life support on a different post...necklace 2nd stage and dryduit inflator.

Supposedly, in a "Roll-off; Break-off" situation involving the left post, what you describe leaves a working regulator (e.g. wing inflator) to still use during a donation situation. That's part of the thinking of leaving the wing inflation on the left/primary side.

It would suck to be in that sitch, but gas from somewhere is better than nothing (or to keep you from fighting your buddy over the reg you donated him). :D
