A couple comments/questions:

1. The $400 includes the first stage, TX 100 2nd, TX40 Oct and hoses. I looked at the European prices and this seemd pretty good even for them. Plus it's local.

2. Regarding the Apeks warranty: Is their warranty like SP: Free parts lifetime, you pay for labor?

Thanks,

John

Yes you only pay the labour on the service, but the situation I was referring to was that if you all of a sudden walk into the LDS with an apeks reg and want it under warranty he is faced with a dilemma. He has to send the serials into Apeks (aqualung) for his warranty if they reject the numbers and he lets you walk with a free kit, he is screwed out of the cost of the kit. Therefore not to many places will simply warranty your reg right of the bat. Mind you if your situation did occur, I am sure that you could work something out.

I stopped in 2 buy that reg package today and noticed that the first stage was a zeagle flathead or looked like one, but had an apex decal on it. Is this or was this a normal apex setup? I had a funny feeling about this set up and didn't buy it. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Newbie poster here!

The LDS has what appears to be a pretty good deal on an Apex regulator and I need some advice from the all knowing board :06:

They have an TX 100 / TX 40 Octo combo on sale for $400. This seems like a pretty good deal, but I know the TX series are ~25% larger than the ATX series. I saw them and they don't seem super big, but I'm wondering if size really does make a difference :eyebrow:

If it helps, I'm a brand new diver with no real experience. I plan to dive mostly warm FL gulf waters and springs.

Specifically, I'm looking for opinions on whether the differences in size between the TX and ATX reulators makes a big difference in use (jaw fatigue, bubbles, etc.). Also, if you think this sounds like a good deal.

Have you ever even seen the 100 first stage? I guess you could mistake it for a zeagle but if you knew what you were looking at you would know. IT is alot taller and thinned than the zeagle. If anything the zeagle reg is a copy of the apeks, not the other way around. Take a look at wat the reg looks like before you go in to buy it if you are worried about fakes www.apeks.co.uk

It looks just like the FST. I never heard of it though, Have you?

Of courseI have heard of it. Did you not ever see what reg Mr. Bennett used on his world record deep dive? that was the one. Nothing to worry about. It is real. And, subject to opinion (of course) it is the best performing in the line up. Make your own choice.
