Why is the Apeks XTX200 considered more technical than the Aqualung Legend LX? I thought they were both pretty much the same reg systems. Am I better off with one than the other?

inside the Apeks regulator, the chamber that delivers the air to the low pressure ports is over-sized and direct pressure/flow to the ports. The Legend LX has separate chambers to deliver the air to the low pressure ports so the EOB at depth is better on the Apeks. Also, the Apeks has a mouth piece tube that goes into your mouth that is larger so can allow greater capacity of air delivered to your mouth.

First there isn't such a thing as a more technical reg.

Having owned the ATX200 and just gotten myself the LX, I can say both are great regs but the lx breaths easier regardless of the design of the FSR.

I prefer the LX cus it's just a that bit better in terms of quality.

However, the best reg for you is the one you can get easiest servicing.
