Anyone tried this out? By far my favorite when trying on in the dive shop. WOuld like to hear input from anyone who's gotten one wet, as I may be purchasing this week.

Thx!

About 2 months ago I spent a few minutes looking at a WTX rig on display at a dive shop in Grand Cayman.

It was fully decked out with every accessary they have. Wow, what a rig. The build quality stood out and it looked like a fine piece of equipment.

As people start getting a look at this thing, a Ranger want look as big anymore.

Yes, I definitely see how one could go overboard decking it out. I'm planning on a little bit more of a stripped down version myself.

This is my first post to the forum! This is great as I am getting back in to diving after 12 years! I was looking at this set up and it caught my eye as it seems to offer more freedm of movement. I will mostly be diving in kelp forests in southern california and on wrecks in the great lakes. I wonder if this Apeks WTX Harness set up is too good for me?

Thank you for posting this question!

I recently purchased the WTX BP and 32lbs wing, I am very pleased with it. I decided on the integrated weight pouches. Great fit and finish, can't say enough good things about this BCD.

I took the plunge and bought my Apeks WTX with SS BP last night. I'm going to dive it this weekend, so I'll post my impressions. I too got the weight pockets. Really nice stuff, but I got hammered on price. Bought from my LDS as I wanted to have their expertise and assistance should I want to modify. I got the Air 2 inflator also so that I can get rid of my damned octo.

How did your dive go? I stopped by a local dive shop and checked the system out. Really Nice. I am trying to figure out if I need the wtx harness or just the one piece webbed harness with back plate. I may end upjust using a reglar weight belt until I can purchase the weight pockets. Great idea on the octo. I am planning on doing the same thing.

Hope you know how to use that AIR2 in a OOA situation.........

The WTX 30 wing was not designed to have the Air2 or the more appropriate Air Source attached to it. While it can work. The WTX was designed to use a conventional back up regulator under the chin (hogarthian method) The inflator hose does NOT have a pull dump on it. If you do put one on make sure the dealer changes the corrugated hose to a slightly longer one so that you can get the alt / mouthpiece in your mouth -- the standard one may be too short as it was never designed for it.

(BTW have done about 150 dives on my WTX pack for single tanks and its flawless -- in St. Lucia now this week diving it as well. )

The AquaLung / Seaquest Air Source complete system will thread onto the WTX bladder should you really want to use one.

Cheers
