Hello
is there any difference between the TX50 and the TX100 in breathing performance? Which one is better? Other things that should be aware of?

thanks, xerxes

I know I want Apeks.....actually the DS4/TX50 combo. But seeing as those are hard to come by these days, I've been considering their other options.

From what I undertand, the TX100 and TX50 1st's are indentical except that the TX50 is on a swivel, and the TX100 has a fancier finish.

What I want to know, is are there any differences in their 2nd's? There isn't anything on paper.....so I'm looking forward to any feedback anyone may have.

TIA....

Chris :)

....for the correction and link. Are you aware of any differerences in the 2nd's? I havn't been able to find any documented info saying one way or another.

Thanks again!

The differences in the seconds are that the heat exchanger is a little bigger on the TX-100 and the adjustment knob is a little different along with some minor cosmetic differences.

Here's also a bit more info on the TX100 from divesource.com

"...Sharing the same technical features with the TX50 2nd stage, but lighter, with improved ergonomics, a reduction in breathing resistance, and a redesigned heat exchanger, offering improved performance. The radically redesigned first stage in, finished in satin chrome, has the top performance of the TX50 first stage in a compact design which incorporates 2 high pressure ports, and four medium pressure ports and angled for optimum hose position. New easier grip hand wheel and dust protector incorporating a spare 'Viton' cylinder valve o-ring."

The other difference is the 1/2" LP port on the first stage of the TX-100 and the DST. All LP ports (4) on the DS4 are 3/8".

There is a thread from yesterday that discusses the pros/cons of this 1/2" port.

As I type this....I have no doubt you've already read it ;-)

Thanks for reminding me that the DS4's do not have the 1/2" port. That's actually pretty important for me. I don't mind using a custom 1/2" hose for my backup on a single tank, but I would perfer "not have to deal" with my doubles rig (which I recently switched over to in November.)

I wish I had a set of both in front of me right now to mess around with.

hello
But is there any significant difference in ease of breathing and
Cold water specifications?
And which one is easier for doubles ATX100 or the DS4?
xerxes

A TX50 and DS4 are not the same regulators.

The TX50 has a turret or swivel, while the DS4 does not have the turret.
