Most LP ports are 3/8", but the DST and 100/200 first stages have a 1/2".
 
yes they are larger than usual. This is arguably giving you a larger airflow. IF you look into the end of the hose however you see that it tapers down right away, thus constricting the air flow to that of a conventioanl LP port... beneficial? Debatable

But it is fun just to say, "More port's bigger than yyooouurrrr port!"
 
A pain in the rear for some when looking for a 7ft. hose. Although they are available.
